Center for Arts Education - Arts Jam 2015 ARTS JAM 2015 CELEBRATES ARTS EDUCATION COMEBACK
New York, NY—May 4, 2015—The Center for Arts Education’s Arts Jam 2015, will be held at Affirmation Arts on Monday, May 18th at 7:00 PM and will feature cocktails, a photography auction, DJ, dancing, and more.
“This has been an incredible year,” said Eric Pryor, Executive Director, and The Center for Arts Education. “After years of budget cuts nationwide, arts education, a central component of a quality education, is poised to make a comeback and CAE is busier than ever with our research, model programming, professional development and advocacy initiatives, helping to make that happen here in New York City.” Pryor continues, “The tide is finally turning in recognizing the importance of arts education, especially in underserved communities, and that is a cause for celebration.”
This year, CAE will honor Jimmy Van Bramer, Council Majority Leader, Chair of the Committee on Cultural Affairs, and Member of the NYC Council serving the 26th District in Queens, for his leadership role in the city’s new investment in arts education, as well as for his steadfast support for ensuring greater access to arts and culture for all New Yorkers.
CAE will also honor Rockwell Group, the award-winning architecture and design firm, in appreciation and celebration of their mentorship of more than 50 public high school students from CAE’s Career Development Program over the last 15 years.
Gallery owner and longtime CAE board member Bruce Silverstein will be curating a photography auction for the benefit featuring the works of Aaron Siskind, Todd Hido, Zoe Strauss and more. Auction is now live on Paddle8.

Arts Jam 2015 is co-chaired by Abigail Scheuer, CAE board member and Michael Spalter, Chair of Rhode Island School of Design.
Associate co-chairs include Isabella Huffington, Amanda Richman Wurtz, and Greylen Erlacher Mardy.
Up and coming NYC-based DJ/Producer Alex Alben will be providing music for the event.
Fine wines and champagne provided by Kobrand Wine and Spirits.
Cupcake bar and dessert provided by Sweet Generation.
Tickets begin at $150 and can be purchased online. $100 tickets for artists and educators are also available.
